Acute stress affects people differently – All stress is a mix of environment and perception. As a result, people are able to shrug off some threats and close encounters easily, whereas other threats are harder and may have a greater negative effect.
Depression can be relentless, strangling meaning, purpose and hope. The great lie of depression is that there is no hope. Research shows the very opposite of that felt reality is the case. So much of the ongoing suffering in silence that depression brings is unnecessary when proper treatments are known to be effective.
